Ryan Oliver – Modeling and Structures
Ryan Oliver has more than twelve years of experience in the real-estate industry and has played a key role in the underwriting, structuring and acquiring of over $850 million in real-estate assets. On behalf of his previous employers and clients, he invested over $250 million in development and acquisition of office, industrial, mixed-use, retail, multi-family and residential equity. Ryan also has worked closely with company executives to underwrite and structure complex real-estate transactions of joint-venture equity, mezzanine debt, bonds, tax credits and other non-conventional financing sources.
As president of Dividend Realty Group, LLC (DRG), an international real-estate training and consulting firm, Ryan has provided consulting services to companies such as CB Richard Ellis, Jones Lang LaSalle, Harvest Capital, The Link REIT, IndoChina Land, Vina Capital and Brunei Investment Agency.
Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in business finance from Brigham Young University (BYU) and a master’s degree in real estate from the University of Denver. He also served as adjunct professor at the University of Denver, where he taught the Argus real-estate finance course to both undergraduate and graduate students.
He is a licensed real-estate agent in California and is an active member of NAIOP. Ryan resides in Parker, Colorado with his wife and five children.
Chung Yee Ling – Corporate Finance & Cross Boarder Investment
Currently the head of Asia investment banking and managing director at RL Capital Management, Roy also is a non-executive independent director at Vingroup JSC – Vietnam’s largest, integrated real- estate developer with $4 billion market capitalization – and a non-executive independent director and chairman of the nominating committee at HG Metals Manufacturing Ltd, one of South East Asia’ largest steel distributors with $200 million market capitalization.
Roy was an independent director at Asia Water Technology, one of China’s largest waste-water treatment providers, which is listed in SGX with $100 million market capitalization. Prior to working for RL Capital, he was a senior investment banker with JPMorgan’s Asia real-estate investment banking team. JPMorgan was honored by FinanceAsia as the “Best Real Estate Investment Bank in Asia” for 2008-2010 and Roy was responsible for the originating and implementing investment-banking mandates for regional clients. Prior to working for JPMorgan, Roy held senior banking positions for Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs and Salomon Smith Barney, performing a wide range of corporate-finance, equity-research and real-estate financings.
Roy is a chartered financial analyst and was formerly on the CFA Society of Japan’s board of directors. He currently serves on the academic committee of the Asian Public Real Estate Association. In March 2008, Roy was honored as one of 20 “Rising Stars in Real Estate” by Institutional Investor and he serves on the judging panels of the International Property Awards, Cityscape Asia Awards and the South East Asia Property Awards.
Roy graduated from INSEAD with a global executive MBA and from the National University of Singapore with a bachelor’s degree in business administration (second upper honors).
John B. Greenman – REIT’s
John has more than twenty years of experience in commercial-real-estate investment and finance. Most recently, he was vice president of acquisitions for ‘20 Twenty Office Properties’ – a private investment firm based in Denver – and previously was vice president of investments at Corporex Colorado, a development company specializing in office and hotel properties.
From 2000 to 2006, John was chief investment officer of AmeriVest Properties, Inc., a public REIT (real estate investment trust) that invested in multi-tenant office assets in the western United States. At AmeriVest, he directed all acquisition, disposition and financing activities, purchasing 15 properties totaling 2.3-million square feet and playing a key role in four “follow-on” equity-share offerings for the company.
From 1994 to 2000, John was senior partner at The Sheridan Group of Denver, the private predecessor company to AmeriVest. He began his career as a corporate banker at Continental Bank of Chicago and served four years in the bank’s London branch.
John holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Amherst College and a M.A. from the School of Advanced International Studies of The Johns Hopkins University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and a member and past ‘President of the City Club’ of Denver.
A native of Buffalo, New York, John is married with three children and currently resides in Centennial, Colorado.
